Two Gallants, who take their name from a James Joyce short story, are a duo hailing from San Francisco. Their sound is pure nostalgic Americana, weaving stories of loss, change and heartbreak amongst a folk twang and a heady simmering sadness. Having caused a huge stir in the San Francisco music scene and subsequently touring almost non-stop across America and abroad, Two Gallants have matured into a ‘Country Punk’ force to be reckoned with. Their live Shows tend to hypnotise the crowd- submerging them in a haze of sound and emotion.

Two Gallants is mad up of Tyson Vogel and Adam Stevens, who formed the band by playing street shows every month in San Francisico. Its these roots that lend a freedom and inhibition to their music. Their first album “The Throes” thrust them into the underground scene, and their follow up “What The Toll Tells” cemented their indie-darling status, receiving brilliant reviews and allowing them to perform across North America. This was followed by “Scenery of Farewell” a haunting EP, and “Two Gallants” their self-titled third album. The band has been praised for the depth and maturity of their music which digs deep into the tradition of bluesy storytelling.

가식적인 모든 것들을 부정하는 담백하고 솔직한 포크 인디락 밴드 Two Gallants가 수퍼컬러수퍼를 통해 내한한다.
제임스 조이스의 단편집 ‘더블린 사람들(Dubliners)’의 에피소드 중 하나에서 따온 이름이 인상깊은 샌프란시스코 출신의 밴드 Two Gallants.
이 밴드는 기타,하모니카 그리고 보컬을 맡는 Adam Stephens와 드럼,보컬을 맡는 Tyson Vogel로 이루어져 있다.
스티븐과 보겔은 그들이 21세이던 2002년부터 함께 공연을 시작했다. 사실 그들은 12살때부터 같이 곡작업을 해왔고 각각의 이름으로 음반을 self-release 한 적도 있는 친구들이다. 따라서 이들이 함께 공연을 시작하게 된 것은 매우 자연스러운 결과물이자 또다른 과정의 시작이었다. 이들은 2005년 Saddle Creek 레코드와 계약하게 되었고 같은 해 8월, 런던에서의 첫 해외 공연을 성공적으로 마치며 자신들의 가능성을 스스로 확인하게 된다. 이를 필두로 2006년, 최고의 라인업으로 화제가 되었던 섬머소닉 페스티벌 등의 점점 크고 멋진 투어 기회를 잡으며 미국,유럽 그리고 아시아에 자신들을 알려나가기 시작한다. 이 밴드의 가장 큰 특징이라고 할 수 있는 Adam의 불안정한 보컬톤은 빈티지한 질감의 기타, 그리고 에너지 넘치는 드럼 연주와 어울려 인디 포크락이 갖추어야 할 요소들이 꽉 맞물린 공연을 선사한다. 특히, 이번 내한 공연은 처음으로 ‘천안’에서도 펼쳐질 계획이므로 그간 SCS의 공연을 기다려온 천안 팬들은 이 날을 위한 락 스피릿을 단단히 비축해두시길!
