Classroom Management: Preventing Problems Before They Start

Do you have problems controlling your class?  Do your students repeatedly act out of turn in class?  These are some of the questions that will be discussed and hopefully solved during this presentation.

Some topics that will be considered are:

·         Punishment

·         Rules

·         What to do if a student keeps acting up?

 

Presenter Bio:

Doria Garms-Sotelo has been living in Korea almost 8 years mostly teaching Elementary students.  Right now she is concentrating on a MEd in TESOL from Grand Canyon University online while publishing some children’s books.    She also has a BS in Computer Information Systems. 

While living in Korea, she met her husband in Uijeongbu and was married in Seoul 4 years ago.  He is with the US Army. 

Having lived overseas most of her life, she has had the enjoyment of living in poor countries that included Sri Lanka, Philippines, Bangladesh, Malawi, and the Republic of Georgia.  Her father worked for the United States State Department while growing up so she has had the advantage of travelling throughout life.

Hobbies include hiking, cooking, traveling, snow skiing, and volunteering and playing with Foxy, her 3 year old fox terrier from Pyeongtaek
