Message from DA Green:

"Korea has been so great to me! It's been my home for over 3 1/2yrs. I organized this event to share with everyone what I LOVE, HIP-HOP!!! It's my passion. Before I leave this outstanding country I want to rock the mic alongside so many truly talented entertainers. The artists that you will be so blessed to witness have helped to make my time in Korea most memorable. I could go on for days, no pun intended, lol, but I'd rather let the night speak for itself! Thanks to the supporters, fans, artists and the Music!"

Peace and Music.

About the ARTISTS...

*Black Ilumin*

Over two years deep in the game of beats and rhymes in Seoul; vocalist Black Ilumin is steadily transforming a recreational sport into a valuable occupation. Growing up in the competitive slipstream of California has allowed this versatile Filipino/American to continually up the ante.

Circumnavigating genres, Black Ilumin’s magnetic package as an emcee, vocalist, lyricist & dancer has a tendency to skip categorization. With a vivid cross-pollination between the vocal delivery of Zac De la Rocha and the mellow atmospherics of Mos Def, Black Ilumin translates charisma into something reminiscent of Drake or Pharell.

Tapping into the grime-halls of Dubstep or the pop-tinged playground of House music, Black Ilumin’s vocal reach extends from his strong roots in Hip Hop and R&B. Simultaneous to being involved in upcoming co-creations with over ground sensation Soro Sori of House Rulez and underground heavyweight DJ YTst (360 sounds), Gorilla Crew has recruited Black Ilumin to be the honorary master of ceremonies for their second B-boy theater production: ‘Return.’

Black Ilumin is steady going live at festivals & super clubs (e.g. Eden, Ellui, Octagon, World DJ Festival, Pentaport, Global Gathering) alongside local and international DJ’s who mostly prefer their beats four to the floor. One being Thai lady DJ: Roxy June. This new collaboration will have them touring as “Black Roxy”.

Opening up doors internationally, Black Ilumin has now combined forces with UK artist/rapper Jake Pains. Known as “Wisecrue”, the duo is in production of an Outkast-esque EP set for release in February 2012. An expansion on his craft has organically led to the vocal coaching, ghost writing and co-production of aspiring artists in the local scene.Staying true to his name, Black Ilumin has flicked the switch, lighting up a side that is yet to be seen.

*Jake Pains*

Jake Pains began rapping close to a decade ago. As founding member of the UK Hip Hop group 30KB (30,000 Bastards), he began creating a name for himself with his rapid delivery, intelligent imagery, articulate word play and cheeky punchlines.

After releasing a critically acclaimed album ‘30,000 Leagues Under the Scene’, he moved to Korea for a change in scenery. Hitting the ground running, he quickly carved a name for himself; becoming the most sought after MC in Korea, as well as the Seoul Slam Poet Champion (still holds the title), as a solo Hip Hop artist and as one half of the Seoul based Hip Hop Group Wisecrue. He is also an MC for SHUT DA MOUTH, Trouble Makerz (the festival supergroup) as well as a huge array of various electro, drum n bass and dubstep DJs in Korea. To add to this, he is also a notorious freestyle rapper at Seoul's Iron Mic Nights. Constantly performing up and down the country, at the biggest and most popular clubs and festivals, well known for his stage presence, there are very few equals to his energy in front of crowds. 2012 sees him featured on a number of other artists releases as well as a collaborative EP with Black Ilumin for their group 'Wisecrue', a solo EP and a constant performance schedule...Wordycuffs!

*Megook Movement*

Megook Movement will soon be dropping two music videos for their tracks "Payback" and "Another day in the SK". Started in late 2009, Megook Movement is a group of individuals’ committed to promoting Hip Hop music and culture in South Korea. The group will be touring Korea this spring doing shows in all the major cities of Korea, including the HipHop Invasion @ Fabric in Busan on May 12th. The movement is currently involved in DJ-ing, rapping, and producing, and has released "Listen and Repeat" and last fall they dropped, "Next Level Up". The DJ’s will also been playing at venues all over Korea, from Busan to Jeju Island. It all started in Gwangju, South Korea but is now being opened up to the world, helping to spread real HipHop culture. If you are a fan, singer, rapper, producer, dancer, graphic artist, video maker, photographer or just have a love for music than join the movement and be prepared to put things in motion.

*Sammy Clay*

Upping the tempo wit a tasteful fusion of electronic and hip hop, Sammy Clay arrives party ready with a fistful of legitimately hype upfront club bangers. With the unassuming good looks of this young and stylish crowd rocker added to the “feel good” layered generously throughout his lyrics and attitude, Sammy Clay stops at nothing to bring pure ruckus to his live shows.

*J. Jones*

J. Jones has been rapping ever since he was a twelve-year-old boy prancing around the house in his big sister's underwear. He attained world-wide recognition in 2010, when his group, Space Boys released their freshman album Diamonds on Neptune free to the internet. Achieving a whopping 156 likes on their Facebook page, the Space Boys knew they were destine for boundless future success. Alas, all of the fame was too much, and the band faced a bitter and abrupt end. Today, J. Jones lives a quiet life in Busan, where he keeps his mustache well groomed, continues to perform and make music, and cares for multiple giga-pets. He has seven Tamagotchis and an Omega watch. The J. stands for Jesus.

Also he had a guest appearance in MBC's High Kick 3 episode 52 in which he played the Reggae Hair Man via Park Ji Sun. *Drew Dobz & Queue*

Drew and Queue met randomly in 2009 on the streets of Busan, where Drew was visiting on vacation. However, the two lost contact for a while, but eventually reconvened again when Drew moved from Seoul to Busan. They immediately hit it off again, this time not only in friendship but with a mutual love for hip hop as well. The two decided to work together on a project called "From K-Pop to Hip-Hop" which has recently been received with great praise from members of both the foreign and Korean community alike. Now, these two dope boyz in a Tiburon are tighter than ever, basically brothers from another mother, who will take your girl, your girl's girl, and your girl's mom, with their cunning linguistics.
