Hi there,
Does anyone have a list of the designated hospitals that perform the standard medical check for foreigners? Or a weblink? Or know of a hospital near Dongnae area that does the health check?
Thanks!

Re: Designated hospitals for medical check??
I think that most main hospitals can perform the check. The fact that you are foreign shouldn't make a difference.
Popular hospitals that are often mentioned with dedicated foreign sectors are PNU hospital the stop after Jagalchi on line 1 and Dong-Eui medical center up the hill from Yangjeong subway stop on line 1 near Seomyeon.
I personally liked the service I got at St Mary's (Seong Mo) in Yong Ho Dong.
Regardless of where you go, there is always someone there who will speak English or do their best to help you.
Re: Designated hospitals for medical check??
I just found the necessary information from the immigration site. Just print off the Korean one and take it into any hospital. The important parts are TBPE and HIV under the E2 Visa section. I am not sure what the situation is these days, but there was no drug testing clinic in Busan and samples had to be sent off to Seoul coming back a week or so later.

Thanks for the info
Elmobuzz, I don't have a coworker to go with me. It's not for an E2 visa, it's just for a job (job requirement). Does anyone know what cost I should be expecting, just so I know that I'm not getting ripped off?

Re: Designated hospitals for medical check??
Personally, I wouldn't work for any school that demands such a test. It's ridiculous enough that we have to do it for the E2 visa.
Anyhow, I paid about 28 bucks for both tests about 2 years ago. I know there is a place that does the HIV for free near Munhyeon Dong, but didn't feel it was worth the hassle going there.
Re: Designated hospitals for medical check??
I went to Hyosung city Hospital.
Next to the Haeundae police station. They were great, very helpful and fast!
Only cost me 40 000won.
Good luck!
Re: Designated hospitals for medical check??
Hey,
I know a lot of people are looking for a place to get an E2 medical check and I just wanted to let you all know that Dong Eui Hospital in Yang Jeong (line 1) is fast and efficient. The nurses in the international clinic make the process extremely easy. Its a great choice if you live in central Busan.
Yang Jeong exit #4 walk straight and turn right at the first street. walk straight up the hill (a little steep) until the top where you should turn left and see the hospital on your right. If you're willing to spend money on taxi fare, it wouldn't be more than minimum fare.
Re: Designated hospitals for medical check??
You don't need to take a taxi or walk up the hill. You can take the number 8 bus on the corner at Exit number 4. If you transfer from the subway it is only 200 won.
I work at Dongeui hospital helping expats. It takes a week to get the results of health examination . You can come to see a doctor from Mon. to Fri. anytime during the morning and some afternoons. If you contact me I can schedule an appointment for you. After a week , you can come to get the results yourself or your employer can get them for you.
If you have any questions or need any help , please feel free to call me at 010-9457-8941 Lee, Hei sung (English co-ordinator at Dongeui Medical Center)
Re: Designated hospitals for medical check??
I went to Dongeui clinic for my E-2 health check yesterday. It was a great experience. I was in and out of there in less than an hour. Ms. Lee was very helpful, explained everything and even accompanied me the entire process. I highly recommend you give them a visit.
Re: Designated hospitals for medical check??
Heisung Lee (이혜성) at Dong-eui Medical Center (동의의료원) in Yangjeong (양정역) is fantastic. Perfect English and super professional. A class act. The process is simple and reasonable. 80,000 won and you have to return a week later to pick up the results. Bring a 3x4cm pic and your ID.
If you call 010-9457-8941 first and make an appointment, it'll go even faster. Also, treat yourself to a taxi from the station. It's a big hill.
Re: Designated hospitals for medical check??
if you are looking for a medical check...for a job in China, please heed my advice.
Do NOT do your medical check in China.
Fly to Beijing and have it done there.
I will tell you why.
China Labor Board and China Visa department has specific medical documents that must be done correctly. I was provided with examples of exactly what they wanted. Korean hospitals will not comply with your request to have the check done the way the Chinese government wants it.
Second of all, the Chinese government will outright reject it because it wasn't done from a government approved hospital. I received this news after calling the Chinese embassy who assured me a medical check was not necessary for a visa.
Thirdly, a hospital here will tell you they can do what you want...unitl you can;t.
In the end I had to do three medical checks. All the expense and time I used on the first due I could have used to go to Beijing and had t done correctly and saved money.
And please don't listen to anyone advocating Dong Hui medical center...it's quite an unhelpful place.
These are my pearls of wisdom.

Isn't Beijing in China?
Thaere's a hospital right near the Myeongnyun subway station. It does your basic medical check.
Re: Designated hospitals for medical check??
I was tired when I wrote that. I meant if you are going to work in China, do not get your medical check done in Korea. It will not pass with Beijing. I had to do a total of three medical checks. Two here..which were not up to China's standards but enough to get me to China. When I got to China and handed my check, it was declared invalid and had to do a third one. For all the time and money i wasted, it would have been cheaper just to go to Beijing and do it once.
Thank you for correcting me. It was a simple mistake of exhaustion.

No worries, thanks for your advise. Sometimes good, and reliable advise is hard to come by.
Thanks again
PS: By the way, how's teaching in China?
