여러분을 자메이카로 데려갈 부산의 두 브라스 밴드의 합동공연!
한국에서 자메이카 음악을 연주하는 아티스트는 그다지 많지 않다. 더욱이 부산에서 이런 음악을 라이브로 직접 들을 수 있는 기회가 거의 없었던 그 아쉬움을 한 번에 날려버릴 공연을 소개한다.
부산에서 활동하는 외국인 밴드 중 뛰어난 연주력과 무대장악력으로 부산의 외국인들 사이에서는 물론, 한국인 사이에도 매니아층을 형성하고 있는 브라스 밴드 '원드랍이스트(One Drop East)'. Funk, Reggae, Ska의 리드미컬한 그루브 위에 쨍한 브라스 사운드를 입힌 자신들의 음악으로 지역의 클럽을 장악함과 동시에 부산선셋라이브를 비롯한 부산의 크고작은 축제들에도 참가하며 지역씬에서 그들의 입지를 더욱 굳히고 있다.

이들과 함께 자메이카의 흥취를 돋울 밴드는 부산의 유일무이한 스카밴드, '스카웨이커스(SKA WAKERs)'. 스카가 갖고있는 흥겨운 리듬에 한국의 정서를 아우르고 이에 브라스 혼섹션을 가미한 그들의 음악은 시간과 장소, 나이를 초월하여 모두를 하나로 만든다. 최근 스카 레이블인 '루디시스템'을 통해 EP앨범을 발매하였고 부산국제락페스티발을 비롯하여 서울,대구,광주,제주의 크고작은 공연에 초청되어 활발히 활동하고 있다.

이번 공연의 게스트로 참가할 팀도 부산에서 만만찮은 관록을 자랑하는 펑크밴드 '21스캇(21Scott)'이다.
2001년 결성하여 2006년 정규앨범을 발매하였고 이후 싱글앨범 발매 등 그들의 음악적 세계를 굳건히 지켜온 부산 밴드씬의 터줏대감이다. 이들의 공연이 아니고서는 드럼,기타,베이스의 밴드 기본 구성만으로 공연장을 꽉 채우는 하드하면서도 팝적인 펑크 사운드를 만나보기 힘들 것.
이 세 밴드의 공연을 한 번에 즐길 수 있는 곳이 바로 오는 9월22일(토) "SKA/PUNK/REGGAE/FUNK" 라는 것!!
Busan powerhouses Ska Wakers and One Drop East are teaming up to bring you a dance party that's local, live and direct: SKA/PUNK/REGGAE/FUNK!
SKA WAKERS have had an incredible year: playing festivals all over Korea, including the Busan International Rock Festival, Soundwave Festival and Sunset Live Festival all here in Busan; touring extensively with the undisputed Kings of Korean Ska: Kingston Rudieska; and releasing a hot 5-song EP. What better way to end the summer than throw down one last raging party in their backyard?
Joining them will be the one Busan band that guarantees 3+ hours of ass-shaking grooves anytime they hit the stage: ONE DROP EAST. Their summer wasn't too bad either, playing big and small stages alike here in Busan, Ulsan, Pyeongchang and Daegu.
After such a prolific few months for both of these bands, you can be sure they are tighter than ever and ready to bring the noise. Add to that, the fact that they haven't shared a stage for almost a year and you can see all the ingredients are there for a Ska/Punk/Reggae/Funk Throwdown!
