MacAvoy is synonymous with heavily Funk Driven Electronic music. Be it House, Techno, Funk, Breakbeat or Electro, MacAvoy is know for picking up the crowd and creating an atmosphere and energy for the right place at the right time.
A New Zealand native, MacAvoy’s appreciation of music extends past the bright lights of the club with personal influences of Funk, Jazz, 90’s Rock, Hip Hop, Reggae and Dub filtering through into his sets. With a humble laidback personality in front of the decks and a consummate professional behind them, MacAvoy’s connection with crowds comes naturally. High energy, quirky skills go well in complimenting MacAvoy’s strong stage presence and cheeky attitude in every performance.
MacAvoy’s big move came in 2005 when he became a Resident DJ of the revolutionary “Vinyl Underground”, later moving on to become the Music Manager and Head DJ. From there MacAvoy has played in numerous Clubs up and down the Korean peninsula having the privilege of playing alongside the likes of Dimitri from Paris, Lazy Rich, Beat Torrent aka C2C, Make the Girl Dance, Punk Rolla, Phil K, Sinichi Osawa, Designer Drugs, Pink is Punk, Johnny Fiasco, Aldrin, Towa Tei, Niina, Max Lyazgin, Dee McAuley, Jon Lockley, Mustard Pimp and many other top international names.
Currently MacAvoy is based out of Busan, South Korea and maintains a hard working schedule with a weekly radio show on KNN 90.5fm and holding down weekly residencies in Busan’s most sort after clubs: Club Elune and Club Foxy Seomyeon.
Now deep into the production side of music and with a growing popularity MacAvoy’s future has never looked brighter or busier! emistry
