My new set of hot wheels!

Monday 28th March, 2011

After spending much of the weekend walking, the girls and I wanted a free day. I ended up giving myself some beauty treatments- facials, painted my nails, used my wonderful new, powerful hair dryer.....

I headed to Home Plus at lunch to have a look at the bikes. I've been here just over a month and I think it's about time I start acting like a Korean and get myself a set of wheels. I knew what I wanted. A foldable bike, with a basket and helmet. I would get the tassles later.

As I tried to talk to the salesgirl, she didn't understand a word of English I was saying. I couldn't really blame her. Sometimes I forget that I am in another country and well, things won't be easy like they are back home. So after a few minutes of realising I was getting nowhere, I grabbed my bag and headed back home, bikeless.

I was abit upset and wanted to whinge, so I logged on and poked Daniel on MSN. My conversation went like this ' Babe, The sales chick didn't understand me. I wanted to know and see how easy it will be for me to fold and unfold the bike. I might see if one of the receptionist girls can come shopping with me! Or.... do you think I can borrow someone from your workplace' lol. I was in great despair. Daniel said he would come with me after he'd finished the gym and he guaranteed I'd come home with a bike. He made my afternoon so much better.

That night, I met him over at Home Plus just after 8pm. We headed over to the bike department and because Daniel knew more, he begun to unfold the bike and check the gears and the height.... Things I didn't even think about! I was super glad he came with me. After confirming the price of the bike, W99,000 ($100) I chose the silver one and bought a white cage basket and a pink skater helmet. All up with the accessories, my brand new, shiny, foldable bike, cost me W150,000 ($150) I was stoked!!! I'd never get this price back home in Sydney.

With a great big smile on my face, I rang my bell and off I rode down the ramp, out into the carpark..... with Daniel trailing behind....

Yay!!! I'm so happy
