This morning I thought I would go see the ISSF Rifle and Pistol Championships which are being held here in Changwon. We have a lot of the competitors staying at the hotel with us, including teams from Japan, China, Bulgaria and Kazakhstan.
After breakfast, I caught the shuttle bus from our hotel. It made one more stop at the Pullman Hotel, before taking us to the Changwon Shooting Range, which sits just at the base of a mountain top. The ride took about 30 minutes.
I had never been here before and the setting is quite lovely. It is surrounded by Cherry Blossom Trees and there is a 2km hiking track nearby. It was now 10.30am and you could already see the hikers making their way up the mountain.
The entry was free and you could see the competitors getting ready. The whole world was competing- Peru, Russia, Spain, France, the United Kingdom. Even Australia had a team here. I had no idea Changwon was so popular!
It is a two week event and finishes on Thursday 14th May. I went to have a look at both the indoor and outdoor events. I didn't realise so many women did this as a sport! Personally it's not my kind of activity, but it was good to see some action sports and be witness to a championship.
I stayed for about 2 hours then headed back home to do some domestic things. Later in the afternoon, Daniel came and picked me up and we headed into Gimhae to the Lotte Premium Outlet Store. I had previously come here before with Jenny, Tiger and Emma.
That's one thing I like about the shopping here. The stores open at 10.30am and close around 8 or 9pm. We bought a few things from the Adidas and Nike Stores before heading home for some noodle dinner.
