Gayspeak: 보갈삼거리 (Gay Junction)

The gayest intersection in Korea
Way back in June I talked about a 보갈, which is another word for a gay person. So where do the gays hang out? At 보갈삼거리 of course.

보갈삼거리 (bo-gal-sam-geo-ri)

A 삼거리 is a three-way intersection. If you know Nagwon dong near Jongno 3 Ga you've probably been to 보갈삼거리. This intersection has tons of gay bars as well as various alleys that lead to more gay bars. And in the summer, the street is full of tents and gay men. Yum.
So let's make some sentences!

보갈삼거리에서 만날래요? --> Shall we meet in 보갈삼거리?

보갈삼러기는 서울에서 게이들이 많기로 손꼽히는 곳입니다. --> In Seoul, 보갈삼거리 is the creme-de-la-creme in terms of concentration of gay people.

한국인 게이를 만나고 싶으면 보갈삼거리로 가세요. --> If you want to meet gay Koreans, go to 보갈삼거리.

Note that although this slang may be popular with older gays, most of my younger friends don't know what it is. TKQ is educating Koreans as well.
