New in Mokpo

Hello,

is there anyone out there who lives/has lived in Mokpo and could offer advice on renting an apartment there? My boyfriend works at the Samho Dockyard, and was given a very old apartment I'd love to move out from asap. I visited quite a few real estate agents today but was told it is practically impossible to find apartments for rent below 200 million Won. Is that so?

Any help will be greatly appreciated!

Is it impossible below 200 million Won... So strange. Maybe your mistyping of below 20 million Won... :(

I did mean 200 million; obviously I'm talking about the very Korean system of paying around 75% of the apartment value in full upon rental and then getting it back entirely from the landlord when you leave the house (never quite understood what's in it for the landlord...apparently bank interests, on average 4,5% per year).

Anyway I have now decided to stay at the apartment provided by my boyfriend's employer, a bit out of town but entirely free. Thank you hope for your message!
