The 2nd Annual Angels Ride for Charity in Daejeon

Date:

Saturday, June 5, 2010 - 12:00
From: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=122752094420649 A day of music and motorcycles for a great cause! The Daejeon Riders and Daejeon Access will be hosting the 2nd annual Angels Ride for Charity. Last year's inaugural event was a success raising 2.5 million won for a local children's center in Daejeon. This year we'd like your help making it bigger and better and raise even more money for the kids! The Ride: Last year we had 16 riders rumbling through town to Yongdam dam all sponsored by generous people to kick off the fundraising. The route this year promises some spectacular views as well as some fun riding around a lake and through the mountains.

Charity Art Auction @ Roofers

Date:

Sunday, May 16, 2010 - 13:30
From: http://www.facebook.com/event.php?eid=114385725241844 Hi Everyone We are delighted to announce that The Right Hon. Mr. Steven Brunton will once again be donning his pink fluffy ears and irreverent wit to take centre stage at our next Art Auction, which will take place on May 16th at Roofers in Itaewon (to whom we'd very much like to extend a very big thank-you for agreeing to let us take over their space for the entire day). This time we’re teaming up with Hongik's Gregory Stock, his lovely Lao wife Phoymany "Poy" Senesomkhith and some of her Lao friends and will be splitting monies raised at this auction between our orphanage in Thailand and a small, rural and very needy school in Laos as detailed below: 1. Baan Unraak ( www.baanunrak.org) is a community development project in Sangklaburi, Thailand , close to the border with Burma and is home to the many refugees who have fled war, forced labor, poverty and general terrible living conditions in that country.

Busan Earth Day Event

Date:

Saturday, April 24, 2010 - 14:00
From: http://www.meetup.com/meetups/calendar/13246643/?from=list&offset=0 EARTH DAY 2010 Calling all tree huggers, recyclers, conservationists, low impact rs, Greenies, Hippies, Reclaimation specialists, Environmentalist, or the curious bystanders.... Sometimes when I think about all the environmental issues of today I get overwhelmed. It's easy to think that we are only one person, how can we do much good? But yet, after speaking with a very wise monk this week, I have not lost heart. He used this metaphor: How can you eat an elephant? If you try to eat the whole elephant in one day you will get very sick, right? But if you just eat it piece by piece you can eat the whole elephant. This is our elephant it may be ginormous and daunting but we can start today and we can eat it piece by piece!! SOOOOOOOO Put on a Green shirt and join me for a Busanian Earth Day event! Our event will start by gathering together for a short discussion of current environmental issues.

InkBomb - Seoul Tattoo Fest

Date:

Friday, April 16, 2010 - 12:00

Ink Bomb is coming to Seoul on April 16 and 17.

http://inkbomb.tistory.com/

This year's show will include tattooists from Korea, Japan and the US. There will be live demostrations, the artists will be available to do some art on site and people can meet up with and set up appointments with the artists for a later date. I can highly recommend Sun Rat Kim - he's one of the organizers. Although I can't seem to find his name on the poster I know him personally and have seen him work. He's possibly the fastest, cleanest and most talented tattooist I've ever seen. There will also be live music and other vendors, such as Bastard XXX clothing- a punk clothier here in Seoul. A two day pass is only 30,000 won (not including the price of any tattoo work you want to get done).
