Back in Changwon

Wednesday 18th May, 2011

We're back in Korea and the weather has finally warmed up. I no longer need my hoodies and I can wear mini skirts now!!! What a difference a week makes.

Tiger, Emma and En, a new girlfriend from Thailand were going to visit the Changwon House Today. It is a traditional Korea House, located in the residential area of Changwon. Due to the cultural tools and lifestyles being preserved from ancestral times, this house is very valuable in examining Traditional Korean Culture. The also use Changwon House for traditional weddings.

The moment we entered inside I was so impressed. Tiger had come here in the winter and the pond was frozen over, but today, the sun was shining, the big karp fish were swimming in the pond and the water wheel was spinning as it trinkled water.

We went inside the museum which housed traditional korean clothing. We then walked around the back to see the tools and farm yard equipment. The Changwon House is only small and can be done in 30 minutes. I think it's a lovely side to Changwon and gives you a tastes of their culture.

In the afternoon, I went back to Tiger's to start planning our trip to Seoul. We are hoping to go on Monday and come back on Thursday. I think that will be enough time to see the many highlights of Seoul. Whilst there, I am hoping to do the DMZ/ Panmunjom tour. This tour will take me to the border where North and South Korea meet and is the only neutral grown between them. I am so excited about this tour, so I will have to book it as soon as possible.
