OUR VISION: One Billion Watching is a film club who meet bi-weekly to share thought-provoking films and hold lively discussions about equality and social change, specifically about addressing gender inequality. We simply gather to enjoy good film, good company, and good discussion. We are open to any and all who wish to join us, and we are a non-partisan, non-religious association. We believe that by discussing social issues in a safe environment we can raise awareness and consider solutions, thereby effecting positive change. Thinking critically is fun and we believe that media has the power to transform and enlighten but that media literacy is an imperatve skill. Join us on facebook: https://www.facebook.com/groups/366765320091645/?fref=ts  and see info about our first event here:https://www.facebook.com/events/128854660644291/

For "The New FeMENism," two titles have been selected, with a third TBA.

Jackson Katz is an American educator, filmmaker, and author. He created the Mentors in Violence Prevention program, a gender violence prevention and education program. He has also worked on several documentaries concerning the representation of women and men in media (from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jackson_Katz)

2) A Call to Men by Tony Porter (Korean subtitles): http://www.ted.com/talks/tony_porter_a_call_to_men.html

Tony Porter is the visionary behind the nonprofit A Call to Men: The National Association of Men and Women Committed to Ending Violence Against Women. (From his Ted bio,http://www.ted.com/speakers/tony_porter.html)

Hope to see you June 13th at 6:30 PM at Club Realize! We will have another event at the end of June if you cannot join us, so please stay tuned! We will always post our events on Koreabridge, on Busan Haps' calendar, and in the One Billion Watching facebook group. We host two events per month: one on a week night mid-month and one on a Sunday evening at the end of the month.
