Domestic Bliss... The hope; the dream; the illusion; the crack; the disillusionment; the despair; the fracturing; the reformation; the new dream; return of hope …

Domestic Bliss...Is it a pipe dream, a false hope, a distant foggy memory, an advertiser ’ s trick, a politician ’ s lie, a film director ’ s fantasy; or a basic human need, a dream for the future, a state of grace, an oasis of peace and tranquility which we all have a right to hope and dream for?

23 artists from 10 countries, including painters, photographers, installation, performance artists and musicians will display their reflections and interpretations of Domestic Bliss.

모두들 완벽한 가정의 행복을 꿈꾼다. 평화로운 생활의 기본은 가정의 행복으로부터 온다고 믿는다. 우리가 꿈꾸는 행복한 가정에 대한 이미지들은 광고의 속임수, 선동가들이 속삭임, 영화 속의 판타지들로 인하여 채워진다.

 

그러나 이러한 것들이 말하는 가정의 행복이 진정 현실의 상황 속에서 찾을 수 있을 것인가? 또는 진정한 가정의 행복이란 무엇인가? 에 대한 반문을 해 본다.

 

가정의 행복이란 전시를 통해 23명의 다국적 작가들이 모여 다양한 매체를 통해 가정의 행복에 대한 의문과 가능성을 제시한다.

Hong, O-Bong Title: “The Bird and I”. Live Performance

Hong, an internationally renowned performance artist will perform the act of the bird symbolizing purifying the broken spirit of a human being as well as our polluted environment. If the bird dies we shall die; if the bird lives, we will live, too

행위 예술가 홍 오봉은   새의 모습을 통해 환경오염에 물들지 않은 순수한 인간의 모습을 구현해 보인다.

Anthony Ragucci  ( USA) live Interactive Performance

Ragucci’s art has been liberated from the confines of the studio where an intense personal struggle often takes place between an artist’s inner and outer world. In his performances anything and everything is possible as he becomes his own art and the audience the artist.

미국작가인 안토니오 라구찌는 관객의 적극적인 개입을 통해 자신의 작업을 구체적으로 완성해 가는 작업을 행위 에술을 통해 보여준다.

Eric Scott Nelson  ( USA) Live Performance

Nelson from New York has performed his unique form of art in the US, Europe and Asia. To say he gets to the root of things is an understatement; as his live images explore life from the bottom up; his audience is engaged and enthralled as they become entangled in his art. 

미국작가인 에릭 스콧 넬슨은 그의 작업의 시작은 관중들과 자신의 속한 곳에 대한 관찰에서 시작된다. 그의 영상 작업은 현장에서 즉석으로 이루어 짐으로써 그곳에 존재하는 관객들의  반응으로 인해 더욱 극적인 영상 작업을 이루어 낸다.

 

Andree Weschler  ( France) Performance: The Venus in Furs (looped Video)

Born in Alsace, trained as an artist in Singapore, performed extensively in Asia, particularly Seoul and Tokyo.

Weschler’s  performances are intense and provocative. Her audience is drawn into the work as a startling transformation takes place. 프랑스 작가인 앤드류 웰치는 비디오 영상 작업을 설치로 보여준다 .  그녀는 자신의 몸과 다양한 재료들과 상황을 통해 그로테스크한 영상 작업을 보여준다.

 

김찬준  C. J. Kim ( Korea ) (Live Jazz Guitar Performance)

A Jazz guitarist/composer who’s band has performed in places as diverse as the Blue Note Club, New York and Sheraton Walker –Hill Hotel Bar & Lounge, Seoul.

At The “Domestic Bliss” Opening event he will be giving a solo performance. 김 찬준은 뉴욕과 서울 쉐리튼 워커힐 호텔 바에서 공연을 하는 작곡가이면서 재즈 기타리스트이다. 이번 “Domestic Bliss”의 전시를 위해 오프닝 행사에 단독 공연을 한다.
