Possibly the closest thing Generation Y have shared in generational experience: sitting on a worn shag basement carpet, desperately unraveling black wire knots, unsheathing the cartridge and superstitiously blowing supposed dust or dirt from its connectors and plugging into a Nintendo/NES console. Since 1998, Sacramento’s The Advantage, a four-piece instrumental rock band featuring members of Hella and Marnie Stern have taken songs from the original Nintendo Entertainment System's early game soundtracks and captured this collective nostalgia. The bands select tastes for old 8-bit covers have earned them stints in Silicon Valley and videogame conventions in the US. Their choice of videogame covers range from songs featured in Mario, Zelda, Mega Man, Air Fortress, Castlevania, and Metroid. The Advantage have released their self-titled full length and their most recent Elf-Titled on record label Kill Rock Stars imprint, 5 Rue Christine. The band will make their Korea debut to the geeked-out delight of button-mashers and enthusiasm of headbangers alike.

Also joining to support an ambitious beat-based record Combed Over Chrome EP (Obstructive Vibrations) is Raleigh Moncrief; an artist that grows more expansive and ambiguous with each successive track. The tracks are a trans-genred collage of experimental noise-ghetto beats and glitchstep. All tracks feature heavy bass beats and glittering synth arpeggios and samples from the Dirty Projectors, who Raleigh recorded Bitte Orca for.

아마도 Y세대가 공유했을 법한 일들: 고독한 지하. 닳아 해진 덥수룩한 털 카펫에 앉아 필사적으로 검은 전선 매듭을 풀고, 탄약을 칼집에 넣고, 연결 장치로 부터의 미신에 얽매여 상상의 먼지 또는 진짜 먼지를 불어내고, 닌텐도/NES 콘솔에 연결하는 것. 1998년, 새크라멘토의 The Advantage, 네 개의 인스트루멘탈 록 밴드 Hella와 Marnie Stern의 피쳐링 멤버는 노래들을 오리지널 NES의 초창기 게임 사운드 트랙에서 가져와 이 컬렉션에 대한 향수병들을 생포했다. 밴드는 올드 8비트 커버들을 선택해 그들에게 미국에서의 실리콘 밸리와 비디오 게임 제한 협정을 초래했다. 그들의 비디오 게임 커버 선택은 마리오, 젤다, 메가 맨, 에어 포트리스, 캐슬바니아와 메트로이드였다.
