Pay as u go phones

hello,

My alien card expires soon which means my phone will stop service on that day (through KT). Can someone please give me some info on where to get a decent pay as u go phone quickly and cheaply as i will only be in korea for 6 more weeks?

I bought mine from a freind in town.  I'd say look online or ask the shop if they have any.  Although they rarely do, people sometimes turn in old phones.

The way it worked is that I had the phone, paid a small fee to have it converted to me and a pay as you go, then just put on 10,000 every couple months.  Its great because even if you run out of money people can still call you.

You need a valid alien registration number even for pay as you go phones.  When your alien registration is up, you can't use your phone.   You don't lose the money, it stays on the phone but you can't use it until your registration number is renewed.

This is most certianly not true with the OZ pay as you go phones.  They dont care about the regristration time, you pay you get time.  It does not go on "hold" after your ARC expires.  I have my old one and it ran out of time while I was back in the US and I charged it up just like normal in a different city from where I regristered it.

As for people calling you, who cares-  If I need to call someone I will charge it.  If nothing comes up and talk time runs out whats the difference between you calling me with or without time-

Sure if you "expect" people to only call you thats pretty cheap.  However I love doing the 10,000 per 3 month plan.  I rarely make enough calls or texts to use up the money I put on there.

what, the phone remembers when your alien registration expires?  no.  i have a contract with T and i use it on my business trips to korea and my alien registration has been up since january or february.
