Hello again, everyone.
My wife was hired at Taipei American School in Taiwan, and she's got her work permit and all of the necessary documentation to submit for her ROC work visa.
We've tried contacting the Chinese consulate here in Busan and the embassy in Seoul with no luck. The recording that answers the phone is all in Chinese and Korean, and it doesn't seem as though there are any English services available over the phone.
We realize that people who travel to China (or Taiwan) from Korea visit designated travel agencies which submit for your ROC travel visa. Is it the same with work permits/visas or do we have to go to the actual consulate/embassy itself?
Any help/advice in this matter would be greatly appreciated!
Re: Need some help with ROC work permit + visa
*bump*
Has nobody ever moved from Korea to China on a working visa?
Somebody must know something.
Re: Need some help with ROC work permit + visa
China and Taiwan have two different governments so they have completely different policies . Befpre om Taiwan you havd to go to one hospital for a drug test and hiv test . You can only go to one hospital in Taipei at that time. In Taiwan less English is spoken then in Korea I remember and have heard there is more red tape in taiwan then korea . Anyway Taiwan is a magical place and I will always keep my memories i had when i was there . Sometimes I wish i had a time machine to go back there at the time again Before you went to taiwan on a tourist visa and then changes itit after being there it was impossible to make it overseas . But the policy may have changed . I would suggest you call The Taiwan or may i saw The Republic of China office in Los Angeles or San Francisco . Its not called an embassy since the usa has no formal relations with Taiwan . Good luck and enjoy taiwan
