Job Ads- comment section

Can we have a fair "comments section" on JOBs please? It's long overdue in my opinion. All you have to do is moderate it.Why not have a "worked there" box? Then the person can contact persons who have been previously employed there.(the choice being optional)

Can we balance the scales? After all, our references are required and decided by the people who earn indirectly, or directly from our skills. Let's upgrade this expat welfare system and update this service you provide for us as the bottom-line client.

The ultimate truth is you get to decide on this, the recruiter and employers make money from this.If you're part of a expat welfare chain, can we have some input too? Some people on here have wanted a fairer appraisal's system, and for a  long time. What are your thoughts? Not a blacklist, an appraising system that connects teacher and future ones.

Re: Job Ads- comment section

I agree with this in theory but unfortunately there are too many people who are bitter over nothing for this to be practical. The amount of times I've heard "they made me work almost 7 hours a day" or "my co-teachers didnt help me discipline the students" or even my favorite "everyone drinks in Korea but they smelt alcohol on my breath one time and sent me home without pay" is shocking. If there was some kind of mediating service it would be perfect but no one has the time or energy to check every school or every employee.

Re: Job Ads- comment section

Let's be honest, the bitterness is not one-sided.Sometimes, a teacher gets turned over by a co-worker, boss, another foreigner, etc. At least the victim could leave some kind of report of this. This would enable the new , potential teacher, to make an accurate decision based on decent information. I mean, how hard is it to get the kind of information you really want?? The juicy stuff!! It's even more important when working abroad.

One example- There are agencies and orgs here where you'll never see an appeal in your job. Legally, you should no 4 months before a non-renewal and you should be able to make your case. Hence, I guess, there will be bitterness here and there over an over zealous co - teacher perhaps, or even Director?? I think people should be able to contact someone and say, " Yeah, I didn't get my flight, my pension wasn't paid, was accused of sexual harassment, etc ,etc".

There is a more subtle way.Set up a job connections area.It could be done in private. The job-seeker just clicks on the job if interested, then there is flag system. If someone notices it and works there, they can leave or send a message. If the message is totally out of order, it can be reported to owner. There doesn't need to be a specific comment on the ad, but a flag system. Green, orange, red. Then, people could go to that area like on Ebay.- press - request information. The report appears and its simple. If the owner thinks the report or analysis is unfair, he deletes it, or questions the writer. There must be a smart, decent and a honorable way to do this.
