How much is import tax on goods purchases outside Korea?

I have a question about ordering a computer from outside of Korea (eBay or any other sites).

What is the amount of taxes or fees placed on imported computers from outside of Korea? I'm thinking on purchasing a ASUS netbook because I can't seem to find any here.

Thanks for any advice you can give!

I had a package sent to me

I had a package sent to me (clothes, tech, chocolate and shoes) that cost 418$. Since it was over 400$, I paid about 150$ on import taxes. It can be costly. Maybe for tech items it is a different percentage.

Pretty much all Korean

Pretty much all Korean government agencies have English websites these days that are relatively understandable. Here's the link to the Korean Customs page: http://english.customs.go.kr/

From there, I found this:

For the most industrial products, you pay probably 8% Customs duties and 10 % VAT. However, some goods are liable to special excise taxes & other taxes. For all the details of Customs duty and tax rates applicable, please refer to the Duties and Taxes in Korea or Simplified Duty Rate at Simplified Clearance on this web-site .

Notebook Computer The Customs duty rate on notebook computers is 0%, but the VAT of 10% on the CIF value (the price+freight+insurance fee) is charged.

That stuff is in the general information section of the website. There may be more detailed info, but I'll let you track that down yourself.
