Environmentalists?

I'm looking for a group or organization to join that is passionate about environmentalism...

And does anyone know how I can tour the recycling plant? I'm dying to know how they recycle all this stuff that the USA wouldn't dream of recycling. Exciting!

What is it exactly that

What is it exactly that USA is not recycling?  I haven't found anywhere in Korea that will take my cork, rubber bands or wood.

hmm not sure about the rubber

hmm not sure about the rubber bands and cork..I'd try a "reuse" on those until they were rendured useless. but have you asked the old guy (i.e. security/management) at your apartment building? He may point you to the right area...it can be hidden in one of the bins that is only labeled in korean. I'd ask.

In the USA, I've never seen the plastic wrapping recycled or styrafoam as they do here. And in Denver, most plastics are not recyclable through the city program. Usually they only pick up plastic bottles or containers that have an opening smaller than the body. Overall, the dedication and awareness to separate recyclable material is exponentally more acute. I'm dying to see how it all gets reused or recycled...anybody wanna follow the recycle truck one day?;)
