I have never lost my taste for American potatoes. The potato that America eats , grown in Idaho. A good potato needs lots of starch to make french fries or good hash browns.. or just to bake. The Korean "white pearl" just doesn't have enough.
Costco now has a 3 kg. sack of Russets for 8000 won.
For hash browns, 1/2 cook them and let them cool overnight then finish in the frying pan.
For french fries, again they need to be cooked twice.
Cover that baked potato with cheese and steamed broccoli. Or yoghurt. Or Alfredo sauce.

I bought a bag a month ago, but it was only 6200won. They were great. I added them to my curry and they taste just like the potatoes from home... probably because they are. Anyways, they are quite nice and better for the kind of cooking I do. Korean potatoes are good, just not starchy enough and the flavor is less than I expect. I guess it has to do with the minerals in the soil.
If you want some good tatters, I totally recommend the ones at costco. On a side note, there is some kind of frozen potato with european writing on them at Lotte Mart. They are pretty good as well. They make good sides or add them to a curry. They are those tiny white potatoes, I think. Not as good as the costco ones, but still nice if you wanna be lazy from time to time.
