Advice on how to get a job in Busan

So I arrived in Busan about a week ago.  I just graduated and I decided to look
for a job out here and I did some research before coming.  Most posts I looked at
advised not to accept a job before you arrive.

I have been here a week, I've posted my resume on eslcafe,
koreabridge and other places and I still haven't had an in person interview.
Am I doing something wrong?  Is there a place in the city with job postings
for foreigners?  Is there another site/recruiter I should be trying?

Also since I flew over here on my own dime, is there any special request I should be
making to my prospective school, or do I just eat that cost?

One last thing, my girlfriend prefers that I keep my beard.  Would it be easier to find
a job if I shave?

Re: Advice on how to get a job in Busan

It's become a fairly saturated market.. Busan is the second most popular place after Seoul.  One week is not much time at all time...hope you have funds to keep you going a fair bit longer...as in months if necessary...

You should apply to as many recruiters as possible - and keep pestering them... maybe ask around the foreigners you see here if they know of any vacancies coming up..and of course apply for all the jobs posted on this site (and Daves ESL cafe)..- I don't think you can afford to be too picky in the current job market as a newbie to be honest..

Airfare being covered by employer is standard - but your priority is get the job  - negotiate airfare pay back if offered a position..

Koreans often see facial hair negatively ( "a beard looks dirty" commonly said here)- maximise your chances and a least temporarily shave - you can always grow it back when you have a job.. include a professional-but-friendly photo of yourself on your resume

good luck! - it took me 3 weeks to get a job after flying back to Korea on a tourist visa after 1 year here... that was 2008 (and with contacts too).  I reckon it would take longer nowadays...
