Chicken!

What's your favourite chicken place in Busan (fried,  baked, grilled) and why?

Re: Chicken!

My favorite, and that of my co-workers, is a place called Very Well Chicken near Kyungsung univeristy. It is in the basement of building 105 of the Prugio apartments just outside of the Kyungsung subway.

It is a fried chicken restaurant, though they do have one grilled option which is really good.  The sauces are awesome.  They do a white wine and red wine sauce, garlic wings, soy sauce wings, herb chicken, green onion and a variety of others.  The ingredients are fresh, the chicken is juicy, and it is simply the best tasting chicken I've had in this country.  It is definitely worth the trip to try it out.  Everyone we've taken there has loved it.  The number is 051-625-8296.

Gupa Gupa Chicken 꾸바꾸바 치킨

The quality is above the standard of any other place I have been.  Also the people who run the place are nice and understand that treating the customer nice means more business.

I dont get the typical sneers and rude comments when I ask for very spicy sauce, ask if they use MSG (첨가), or any other question.  I heartily reccomend them to everyone to try.  The best part is that they fire roast the chicken even if you get fried, its roasted a little first.

Now I want to eat it again tonight.

Re: Chicken!

오꾸닭...like fried chicken but done in an oven eliminating a lot of the grease and fat.

Re: Chicken!

Definitely 우꾸닭 that place is awesome. Especially the chicken thighs. Good quality meat.

I also like the guys on the side of the road and at baseball games selling the whole barbequed rotisserie chickens from the back of their vans. Yummy.

And of course my house.

Re: Chicken!

I like cuisine volatile when it comes out with a special package as a part of promotion sales.  Lotte Mart in 82 locals all over South Korea, will sell one whole fried chicken (approximately 900g)  for less than 5 bucks(exactly 5000won) from today.  It will be fine with my original creamy cheesy Gouda dressing which is my favorite.

Re: Chicken!

I like norangtong, 노랑통 chicken, across Kyungsung Univ.  library exit. Not too cheap, usual price. But their boneless menus are just the way I want. not too dry, not too juicy.

Re: Chicken!

The best fried chicken in Busan is "Giant Chicken" "거인통닭" in 부평동.

Re: Chicken!

My husband really loves this place in Seomyeon..Can't remember if it's CoCo or Coo Coo Country. but it's usually pretty crowded.  They have this special chicken called Daeng Cho that he swears by.  Personally, I am about sick of chicken in Korea.heheh  :)  Most of it all tastes the same to me.  Maybe I'd better try some of the other suggestions on this page.:)

Re: Chicken!

blasphemy.

umm, KFC! yay!

Re: Chicken!

The place you're talking about is "Country Co Co" which is near the back of Lotte down an alley. It's not bad. I've eaten a lot of chicken in Busan in many places and the best place is "Giant Chicken" as mentioned in my post.

Re: Chicken!

The place in Seomyeon, if it is still in the same location, in the back streets near the back of Lotte department store, is great for several reasons. A really, really crazy place. 3 floors up dangerously steep wooden stairs, great garlic fried chicken, and the worlds smallest door for a toilet. It's as though dwarves live in there or something. You have to almost crawl through on hands and feet, but inside it's pretty roomy. A bit like the TARDIS actually!
