Where to buy sour cream?

I went to the huge Shinsegae in Haundae and they didn't have it. Didn't have it at Homeplus next to the Shinsegay. Went to the three foreign food marts in Sasang and they didn't have it. Going to Costco in a little bit so will check to see if they have it.

Any other places around here for sour cream and/or guacamole?

Re: Where to buy sour cream?

Costco always has it. Sometimes other places such as Homeplus and E-Mart do have it depending on the branch location. But, as you found out not always guaranteed.

Has  anyone ever seen cottage cheese . I think I have never seen that in Korea ? Except at the military bases .

Re: Where to buy sour cream?

Unsweetened yogurt can be a good substitute. I used the UNsweetened Denmark Yogurt for a long time. Now I make my own. Cottage cheese can also be easily made with vinegar.

Making your own cottage cheese / ricottoa whatever you want to call it couldn't be easier.

Bring milk to almost a boil.

Add some acid ( I use the squeezy lemons) until it curdles.

Let it cool and then strain through some cheese cloth or an old tshirt if you don't have that.
