Which phone companies have the best deals for contracts?

Hello all, I've just arrived for a second time to Busan and plan to stay for about 2 years. So, I'm looking into getting a mobile phone and would like to explore signing a contract instead going with the pre-paid services. In my previous time in Korea I just opted to go with a pre-paid phone and could pull off spending just a little over 20,000 a month when you averaged it all out. (Mind you that it was only texting I was doing, never any calls) I don't make a lot of calls or send a boatload of texts. I probably only use my phone a moderate to low amount for both texts and calls.

This time around though, I'd like to actually be able to make calls so I'd like to try out a contract. WHEW! Which leads me to my long winded question:

Which mobile phone company is the best and what are there best deals available?

*Please let me know your good and bad stories so I can see some pros and cons.

generally, foreigners are

generally, foreigners are only granted regular contracts if you are a f2 or f5 visa holder.  the only company of the big three that offer the services to foreigners is 'T' or sk telecom.  i was actually shocked when i was told that i could obtain a phone contract on my own without a co-signer...

i've used all three providers...T(SK), Show(KTF), OZ (LG) and pricewise Oz is the best deal.  T is the most expensive but service is awesome.  Show's prices are slightly lower than T's and from what I experienced, service was fine as well.

I used SK and have recently

I used SK and have recently switched over to Oz. SK was okay, but they charge too much. Oz has a some good plans, and the people there have been really friendly.

I am not sure of the

I am not sure of the situation now since a lot has changed since I first arrived. In my opinion the most foreigner friendly company has always been LG / OZ, they are also the cheapest but on the downside I don't find their coverage as good as the other two.

I had no problems signing up with them, but that was back in the day. I've heard stories of the other two companies asking for a large deposit (500,000) on your credit card, but have no idea if that is still the case. Apparently if you have a Korean issued credit card it makes stuff easier.

Show does not offer the

Show does not offer the deposit method.  T does for a deposit of 200,000.  However, phones have to be activated for a period of 3 months or longer and the deposit will be made available to you after the last bill has been paid which will be at the end of the fourth month.  The poster wants to be in Korea for two months...

Hmm..

Hello~

I work in a foreign language institute with native English teachers. A few days ago, I went to SKT with a teacher, but they said SKT has a specific shop that provides phone services for foreigners. So, my friend and I went to LG, and we made a pre-paid phone. I'm not sure how much you have to spend to make a contract. This upcoming Sat., I will go to LG with my another friend to make a cell phone with contract. If you need, I will give you some information after this Sat shopping. Just let me know. My email is [email protected]

Good Luck

SK wanted something crazy

SK wanted something crazy like a 200-300,000 won deposit that you do eventually get back and also a 2 year contract.  LG/OZ one year contract with a 30-40,000 deposit deducted in 10,000 increments on each monthly statement.  OZ wins.

co-signee

This was briefly mentioned above. I think that all the companies allow you to have a contract phone if you have a Korean co-signee. Usually after a few months you can switch the phone solely over to your name.
