Anyone paying Sallie Mae student loans while living in Korea?

I am paying student loans through Sallie Mae online while in Korea. I just arrived a week ago and logged onto my Sallie Mae account to double check when my next payment is. The site will not allow me to get past the login screen. When I attempt to login I get a screen that says 'The server at ------ can't be found, because the DNS lookup failed. DNS is the network service that translates a website's name to its Internet address. This error is most often caused by having no connection to the Internet or a misconfigured network. It can also be caused by an unresponsive DNS server or a firewall preventing Google Chrome from accessing the network."

My internet is working no problem and I haven't encountered this message until I got here. Anyone else encountered this problem before? Or suggest a workaround?

Thanks!

Re: Anyone paying Sallie Mae student loans while living in ...

There are a lot of sites out there popping up like that nowdays. Happens to me every time. I asked my friend to log into the site back home and it went through fine.

I am guessing the Korean government is blocking the site. Don't know how to get around it.

The ROK government is not blocking the site. Sallie Mae is blocking Korean IP addresses because Korea is so notorious for hacking. I have had the same experience with a few financial sites, including my mortgage provider. Thank God for VPN.
