Scooter Oil Change

Does anyone know of a shop or shops that speak English and will service a scooter with an oil change. Been looking everywhere and I can't find one. Even if they don't speak English as long as they change the oil that would be amazing!

The closer it is to City Hall the better.

Much thanks

Re: Scooter Oil Change

Just about every bike/scooter shop can change the oil.  They'll probably understand "oil change," but if they don't, try "oh-il byuhn-gyoung."

Re: Scooter Oil Change

Just go into any scooter/bike shop and say "OIL CHANGEE" and motion your hands like you want the oil out of the bike.

Just make sure you get the right oil.... theres the cheap stuff, blended, fully synthetic.

Ranges from 10,000-40,000 won as well as mileage.

Re: Scooter Oil Change

Can't seem to find any shops that'll service it. Any advice on a foreigner friendly bike shop?

Re: Scooter Oil Change

What do you mean they won't service it?

What kind of scooter is it?  Is it a 2 stroke or 4 stroke engine?

If you just need the oil changed there shouldn't be any reason they won't service it.  It's as simple as unscrewing a plug, draining it and putting new oil in.  Takes 10 minutes tops.

And as for foreigner friendly shops, unless the owner remembers any English from his high-school days, you won't find any.

Re: Scooter Oil Change

I don't know about bike shops, but the majority of car shop owners have been to college, and several have enough English. The guy at my shop is always keen to show me his thesis which he had to write in Korean and English.

Also several of my scooter and bike owning friends have mentioned that there guys can speak the necessary 'mechanical' English and some a bit more on top of that as well.

Try Haeundae, everyone seems to speak English down there nowadays!

Re: Scooter Oil Change

Dude, this is so strange.  Do you have some sort of weird scooter or something?  I have been riding a bike for 7 years now in Busan and have never once had a problem getting the oil changed.  I've literally done it probably 20 different times at just as many shops and it's never been a problem.  Just say "OIL CHANGE-EE" and motion your arms like the man said.
