Snowboarding Trip Help

Hey,

I'm thinking about a weekend in Muju and could use some info. regarding accommodations in Muju.

Also, can anyone recommend a travel service that you had success with in the past? (also, good prices) The one I contacted quoted me roughly 190,000 for snowboard and equipment rental and lifts

Thanks!

Re: Snowboarding Trip Help

How Much!!!!

I've used SaeBusan Travel twice in the past, and they have been good and reliable. Just checking their site now I am getting 45 bucks round trip on the bus (if you stay overnight, otherwise it's 35) and 54 bucks for rental and lifts. Also they have pick up points all over the city so probably no need to travel.

Can't see anything on their site right regarding accommodation. But, I do know they have at least two good English speakers who may be able to help you out or point you in the right direction.

Here is a link to their website page with the Muju packages on. They also go to all the other resorts as well.

Thanks for the reply!

I should've said that the price I quoted was for 2 people. The thing that sucks is that you have to buy the package as a whole (with bus fare) instead of just buying the rentals and whatnot without bus. Boo. I eventually went with them, given that private transportation would cost roughly the same (though they're it would be more flexible in terms of time, instead of the grueling 5:30am departure and annoying 4pm-ish departure time).

Re: Snowboarding Trip Help

I know a friend of mine got a train to the nearest city a few years back and then a connecting bus from the station to Muju. Once there most of the hotels, pensions and guesthouses have their own shops attached where you can hire stuff, usually of a much better quality than the standard generic equipment the tours offer.

I will try and find out more from him.

Re: Snowboarding Trip Help

Associated with topic, does anyone know the company that organizes the bus day trips to Yongpyong and, if so, what time they pick up from Haeundae?

Thanks!
