Magic the Gathering in Busan

Hi All,

This is a repost but I am hoping to get some new people who might be interested.

We have a Magic the Gathering group which meets up regularly here in Busan. If you are interested, please send me a message or email. We are very friendly and know how to get more cards.

We also don't mind those just wanting to play cube drafts with us!

Thanks all!!!

From my meetup.com event:

***UPDATE***
We will be meeting for Magic on this Saturday (3/26) at 12pm (noon) at the Chess Board Game Cafe. When you arrive at PNU Station, exit through exit 1 and cross the street that runs parallel with the station and head down the alley for a few blocks. Pass McDonalds and keep going. You will come to a crosswalk that has traffic lights. Keep going and at the end of the street, right before it curves to the right, there is a small convenient store and above it is the Chess Board Game Cafe. It is the same location as where the Busan Board Game Club meets. We plan on playing until 5:30ish and at 6pm, the Busan Board Game Club will meet, so you can easily get a 2-for-1 on Saturday!

Hey all, maybe you saw my posting before, but my crew and I are looking for new players or old players who want to play again. It does get nerdy, but not as much of a comittment as D&D. We have plenty of cards so all we need are bodies and people who know how to play or who are interested in learning! All are welcome! We usually meet up on Saturdays or Sundays at PNU, but if enough people are interested, we can compromise on the day or location. We welcome all who want to let their inner nerd out. If you know magic and wanna let that nerd out, drop a line for more info, and those who wonder "WTF is magic?" well, here is a link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Magic:_The_Gathering When the next date is confirmed, I will post it on meetup. PS - If there are any players in southern Busan (Saha-gu, Seo-gu, Nampo-dong areas, weekdays are also fairly open for myself as well to play with less people or to learn more).

wow, I didn't  know this game

wow, I didn't  know this game made it out of middle school. Even  then it was lame.  haha.
Cheers for never giving  up. . .

Probably not a good idea to

Probably not a good idea to call the Magic the Gathering kids lame, as I am 6'2" and pretty big and mean looking. A lot of my friends were even bigger and they could beat me up if they wanted.

Anybody interested in MtG??

lol

some clearly did not make it out of middle school-bully!...lol

What a douche bag comment

What a douche bag comment this is.  Some of us have hobbies other than spending every waking moment working out at the gym, knocking back cheap skunk beer, and hitting on Asian women.

I think I'm interested in playing, I just don't have any decks.  My friend does, though.  I think you might have two more players.

@joshuabeagle: wow...you

@joshuabeagle: wow...you really have never had a hard time, have you.  maybe a hard on....that's probably all you ever have, jock.

after the car accident that killed my parents and put me in a wheelchair for ten years, magic: the gathering was all i had.  it was my entire world.  people like you just have no idea.

grow up joshuabeagle.

Nerd Power!!!   I never

Nerd Power!!!

I never played Magic but used to DM the f*ck outta some Dungeons and Dragons.   Make a saving throw vs. "cool."  A pox on the haters!

Alt Nerd here

never magicked, but i'm a big strategy gamer (for those of you not cool enough to geek out - think risk on PEDs);  anybody up for those?

Ha.  I loved DMing.  It

Ha.  I loved DMing.  It really taught me tons about writing and performing.  D and D rules.  I'd love to play again someday, but am just too busy right now.

Wow I used to love playing

Wow I used to love playing Magic the Gathering. I remember my middle school buddies and me gathering around for epic battles, then providing oral pleasure to each other, but not in a gay way.

Good times.

I usually agree with your

Tickle Chicken : I usually agree with your posts on here and wouldn't expect such a juvenile comment from you.

If you guys are interested in

If you guys are interested in D&D, there is a group just starting to form on the Busan MeetUp website (meetup.com) and search for Busan. There is also my magic group that was just posted there as well.

Anyways, if you are interested in magic, you don't need any cards as we usually play with cubes, so that means we provide the cards. If you wanna come sometime, let me know by sending me a PM or email. There probably wont be any gaming this weekend, but next weekend there should be. We already have a base of a few regular players, and we are all pretty cool guys and want to meet new people and share the experience of the game.

Thanks to all those who didn't post crappy comments and I look forward to hearing from those interested.

Pathetic. Seems that some

Pathetic. Seems that some people never grow out of their high school bullying.

BusanGuy, JoshuaBeagle- Get a life. Really don't you have anything better to do?

I have a pretty full schedule so I don't think I'll be able to join the MTG club, but

those of you who do...Rock on!

Re: Magic the Gathering in Busan

lol at some of  the comments posted.  This thread is funny.  I actually train a contact sport and am always at the gym training.  I love comic books, RPG video games, and D&D.  Some of the big, scary guys I have trained with in the past (that I guarantee can beat the living piss out of you) are into the same stuff and are total nerds.

Re: Magic the Gathering in Busan

Once I was trecking solo across outback Australia when I slipped into a ravine filled with poisonous tiger snakes.  I was bitten seven times, but was able to suck the poison out with my mouth, and then kill enough of them to make a snake rope and climb out. Unfortunately, as a I emerged there was a 7m saltwater crocodile waiting to do battle with me. I had learned who to wrestle crocs in primary school, so I pounced onto his back and thrust my thumbs into his eyesockets until he collapsed and died. That night I gutted him and ate crocodile steaks while I stitched together a croc-skin three piece suit. As I slept I was woken by a horny all female tribe of Aboriginies whose male tribe members had all died to croc and snake attacks. They took turns to  pounce on me, and again, I poked away until we all collapsed. The next morning we woke up and played D&D and MtG. This is a true story and if any of you make fun of my hobbies, I'm going to have to avenge your slander by again describing my awesome powers of physical prowess over the internet.

Re: Magic the Gathering in Busan

Wow, two d-bag posts in one thread.  Way to go.  I think it's funny when people hide their own weaknesses behind sarcasm.  I know you think you're being cute and funny, but it's not really witty or even humorous.  "Oral pleasure"?  "Poked" huh?  I used to joke around like that when I was twelve.  I'm actually older and married.  I don't drink or party (I see nothing wrong with drinking or partying though).  I enjoy my spare time in other ways.  I think it is lame to stereo type people because either a.)  they enjoy physical activity or b.) they like RPG.  Lots of guys that I've met love both, which was my point.  You might have understood that if you weren't so busy acting like an immature moron.  You might want to go back and read my post (I'm assuming you have a university degree right)?

Re: Magic the Gathering in Busan

@ ИВАН ДРАГО

Well, this thread quickly became a machismo pissing contest, so I figured if you can't beat 'em, join 'em, and hurt the team by beating yourself.

Re: Magic the Gathering in Busan

"Machismo"?  I never said anything threatening towards you at all.  If you don't like what I wrote, don't act like a jerk.  You're the one trying to make fun of people over the internet (hiding behind a computer) and posting immature things.  Don't try to turn it around.  Tell you what, instead of beating myself, next time I play D&D I'll send you a PM.  You can play the village idiot.

Re: Magic the Gathering in Busan

So are people still playing magic in Busan? I hope over the past 4 years we as a society have moved passed judging each other based on ways to pass time. Im looking to join a group and play casually!
