Ulsan Inferno 2011

The Ulsan Inferno is once again on and it is taking place this weekend!! Why would the average reading of a photography blog like this care? Well… because I am sponsoring the “Best Photo” prize.

Basically the Inferno is a photo-based scavenger hunt where people ride around on motorcycles, scooters, and bicycles to capture photos of various sites around Ulsan in order to gain point and win cash prizes. It is an awesome time and I am super excited that we got it off the ground again this year.

The event will start at the tradition meeting point of Taehwagang Station. We will kick off the event promptly at 11 am with a group ride out to the coast and then teams will take off in any direction that they see fit to achieve the greatest success.  The “race” will finish at 4 allowing teams to head home, get washed and head out to Cima Bar for the party and awards ceremony.

For more information and online registration, head over to Ulsan Online. There is a full break down of the event plus the online registration. Also note that if you are from out of town, there are plenty of motels around the starting point and Taehwagang Station has a “state-of-the-art” Bicycle parking garage for the night of the event.

To enter, you must have a scooter, motorcycle or bike or some sort. The entry fee is 30,000 won but that gets you a lot! We went all out this year and got some great stuff. In addition to your chance to win some cash prizes you get a free custom t-shirt, a starter pack with maps and water, tickets for the raffle, free hamburger and food at Cima, and of course… a free beer to wash away all of that yellow dust and exhaust that you’ve choked down all day.

I will be around getting shots of the event and riders as well as helping organize everything. the team of Inferno Organizers has been completely amazing this year and I am happy to have been apart of it. I can’t wait for the race day and I hope to see you all there.
