Top 10 Things to Do in Queer Seoul

1) Hit up Homo Hill. What better way to celebrate queerness than the biggest gay party area in Seoul? Hit up Hill staples like Soho and Queen before clubbing at Pulse until the sun rises.

2) Go to a gay pojangmacha (tent) in the Nagwon-dong area. Straight out of exit 4 of Jongno 3 Ga (종로 3 가) and you'll see a bunch of tents. Plop down and order delicious (if somewhat pricey) anju while surrounded by tons of gay clientele.

3) If you are here in May, make sure you go to the queer film festival. With a mixture of domestic and international films, it may not be as well known as other festivals, this also means it is a lot easier to get tickets. ^^

4) Head over to the Meet Market: a queer party in Hongdae held at Myoung-wol-gwon. The party is great for both queer boys and girls. And anyone in between. Check out their Facebook page for more details.

5) Get some gay coffee. Both the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf near Insadong and Cafe Cul Com are both pretty cruisy. Sip some coffee, throw shade, and meet a cute boy. Weekend evenings are definitely more crowded.

6) Sing karaoke. There are a bunch of choices in the Nagwon-dong area with gay clientele. I like self-service bar Monster and the super beary Bul Gom.

7) June means pride, and Seoul has it too! Although my first pride parade in Seoul was a bit lackluster, every year has grown. 2013 should be even better! Parades, drag queens, go-go boys... if only we had some dykes on bikes.

8) Get some love sauna style. Just make sure you use protection.

9) Ladies, head over to Hongdae. With bars like Labris and Pink Hole, you can be sure to have a sapphist evening. Check out Peaches of Apathy for simple directions to the clubs.

10) Eat at queer restaurants! I'm a big fan of 번지 없는 주막 in Nagwon-dong. Or you could try one of Hong Seok-cheon's restaurants in Seoul. I've only been to My Noodle. A little pricey, but delicious.
