MMPKorea has been a great part of my experience and memory in Korea, but I have moved away and can no longer be a regular help with the Makgeolli Mamas & Papas community.  With that said, Mama Julia is still loving makgeolli in Seoul and workin’ her little booty off to share the joy.

I would like to say thank you to you.  Thank you for really great memories, delicious makgeolli moments, phenomenal pajeon and new friendships, It has been really exciting to see MMPKorea grow and reach new potentials.  It has also been really special to be a part of makgeolli, watching the world fall in love with it.

In 2011 I dreamed that we could create a makgeolli community.  The goal was to bring together Koreans, expats, and their love and curiosity for Korean culture and the makgeolli world.  I wanted to learn more about with with other makgeolli lovers.  It has happened.  Our community is not just about us, but about creating conversation and furthering curiosity about makgeolli.  It will always be my favorite thing to see someone fall in love with makgeolli for the first time.

Remember that being a Makgeolli Mama or Papa is about exploring a special part of Korean culture.  People often ask about our members.  Enjoy makgeolli once and you are a Mama or Papa for life, no members, but Mamas and Papas around the world enjoying and spreading the makgeolli love ^^.  That’s what I plan to do from overseas!

Thank you everyone for coming to our meetings, filling in our reviews, subscribing to our different social media outlets, and, most importantly, drinking makgeolli.

Thank you so much for the beautiful gift you gave on our one year anniversary.  The signed makgeolli bowls are on their way to Canada and will stay near and dear to my heart.

Lastly, a very special thank you goes out to Julia, Hyojin, Haena, Muldwinda, Susubori, Chelsea Bruck, Courtney Klee, Chance, Steve, Jay, Chris and Hilary.  You have all supported me and played and important role in MMPKorea this past year and I could not be more thankful.  To list what you have all done would take pages.  Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart.

I wish you all the best in wherever your path may take you.  May you carry and share the spirit of the makgeolli community wherever you may go.
