Sights and Sounds of South Korea: Haedong Yonggung temple 해동용궁사

I headed out to Haedong Yonggung temple this week to shoot some footage. It's one of the most beautiful temples in South Korea as it sits on the coast. I wanted to spend some time with the new camera.

The transition to HD has been a lot smoother than I expected. Last year when I started shooting videos about South Korea it took a good month to work out a system of editing. I had to convert all my video to a different file to edit and edit it in two passes. Having this much trouble with SD footage, I figured I would have new troubles with my new setup. Instead it has been the opposite. I did upgrade my laptop first which has made a world of difference. I bumped up my ram to 4gb and installed a solid state hard drive and installed Windows 7. The solid state drive is awesome! I would never go back to a regular drive. The computer is so much faster. I also upgraded my editing software. I have been using Adobe premiere for over ten years now. I finally upgraded to the lasted version CS5. I was actually using 6.5 all this time. CS5 is great it allows you to add any footage. So I am able to edit the HD footage. Rendering footage can be a bit slow but I am on-lining HD video on a relatively inexpensive laptop. When I first started editing video it would take hours to render thirty seconds of video. I picked up a second camera for motorcycle footage. Hopefully I will get out this weekend to test it out. I also have a wireless lapel mic on order, so if it comes I can use my whole new setup.
