Oh, Konglish 2 (Electric Boogaloo)

In our ongoing series of the strange and wonderful ways South Korea loves to mangle the English language.

Conservative slant.

Seriously, Korea. What gives with this obsession with the word “story?” What do you interpret it as? I’m genuinely curious. I thought I heard a pretty plausible explanation a while back but it’s been lost in the ether of too many regretful decisions.

Here’s another one of those quirky things Korea has grabbed by the shorthairs and refused to let go of. But, a word of advice if you’re reading this. When you write something with “-topia” added to it, its connotation is to “utopia.” When you just write “pia,” it sounds like bad, fake Italian for going to the bathroom.

There are no words, Korea. Well, here's one anyway. Ew.
