After being longlisted for the award last November, Kyung-sook Shin became the first Korean and first woman to win the Man Asian Literary Prize, an annual literary award given to the best novel by an Asian writer.

Shin won the prestigious award for her best-selling novel, Please Look After Mom, a heartbreaking story about a family’s search for their missing mother. The book was featured on Korean Beacon’s Summer Reading list last year!
