Kaitlyn, Taylor, and I went to the Kawaii Monster Cafe in Tokyo....

Kaitlyn, Taylor, and I went to the Kawaii Monster Cafe in Tokyo. Kawaii means “cute” in Japanese, and the “Cute Monster” is the most accurate way to describe this theme restaurant. The place is almost overwhelming with its sugary technicolor decorations, food, and dressed-up staff. I say almost, because it’s actually really awesome.

For a ‎500¥ entrance fee visitors can spend 90 minutes inside ogling the overwhelmingly adorable design. The café is divided into four equally precious-sounding seating areas: the toadstool-themed Mushroom Disco; the Milk Stand where baby bottles dangle from the ceiling; Bar Experiment, which features a black light–lit jellyfish; and the Mel-Tea Room featuring giant melting ice cream cones.
