I'm Asia

I'm Asia, which opened 1 1/2 months ago, is nestled in the artsy district of Daeheung dong where you can get Asian cuisine ranging from Cambodia, Vietnam, Thailand, and Indonesia.
It is owned by the director  (Paul) Bong-Goo, Kim of the Daejeon Migrant's Welfare Center. You can check out their website here

They are open from 11am to 10pm.

They are open 7 days a week and on National Holidays!

I spoke to Ayu,(which means "pretty" in Indonesian, pronounced "IU") Ayu is a chef and she waited on me (she speaks perfect English). She originally hails from Jakarta, Indonesia. Ayu is apart of a group of housewives who wanted to have better jobs than working in the factories in and around Daejeon. Ayu said, "Working at I'm Asia gives us an opportunity to spend more time with our children.",

I asked her about the limited menu, "In the future we will add more dishes, 'step by step', quoting my favorite boy band", she laughed.

She added, "I hope the residents of Daejeon are eager to experience different Asian food other than Korean cuisine, which may be difficult for some people to eat."

I was impressed with the modern, but simple decor and relaxing atmosphere inside.

I had the Cha-gio Vietnamese spring rolls (very delicious) and Com Chien Thit Ga traditional Vietnamese fried rice, which was great!
