You’ve been born and raised in X country, though your genetic makeup is Korean.

Moments like what Trump asked is what people of another ethnic heritage go through on a daily.  If you haven’t read it, here’s the lowdown. Being a Korean American, it’s common to get asked, “Are you Chinese?”, “Were you born here?”, etc.  I think this video ‘What kind of Asian are you?’ describes what we go through perfectly if it were the other way around.

Not that it matters what others think, however, going through these kinds of questions regularly is what we gyopos (kyopos) have in common, regardless of which country you are born and raised in. ( Except if you were born in Kazakhstan because people look Asian there)

I used to get very angry at statements like Donald’s because there was an identity crisis of who I was, but I don’t anymore. Teenagers as well as others out there might hear his statement and be furious, and they have every right to be.  Who is someone to say what one is or isn’t based on their skin.  Furthermore, I’m here to say, don’t worry about it, because well, you are who you are, and someone like Donald shouldn’t get under your skin.

The typical knowledge of an American knowing about the Korean heritage is slim; the fact that there are over 2 million second generation Koreans in America, many Koreans in Germany, Koreans in Russia, etc.

Heck, there other Americans with another ethnic background that don’t know about their own heritage; how do you expect them to know about ours?

So I just wanted to say, don’t trip.  You’re not the only one who believes that Trump’s a donkey’s behind.
