Hello, Kitty

Around the corner from my apartment, lives the cutest place in the world.

It's also kind of hard to miss... and it may be everything you expect Asia to be.

The Hello Kitty Store has pretty much everything you could ever need, except greeting cards.
Seriously they have Hello Kitty sandwich cutters for your bento box, but not a single greeting card.

I went in looking for a card because I was feeling lazy and didn't want to go to the card store I usually frequent, plus really I did want a better look at this place.

It was packed to the brim with the weirdest stuff.  For a girl that has joked about Hello Kitty Waffle Irons and Blenders, even this was too much.  Veggie peelers, slippers in all sizes, school supplies and silverware, even a fondue maker could be found crammed into this shop.

But at least the fondue pot is on sale, right?

Seriously, it was intense.  I began to crave the random Rilakkuma stickers and toilet seat covers and other non-Hello Kitty things just to get a moments peace from the pink.  You know a place is too overwhelming when the girl with the bright pink bike says your store has too much pink.

But at least I can now keep my valuables in a Hello Kitty Safe while I eat my Hello Kitty Toast.
Seriously, I was so swallowed by bows and pink and a mouth-less cat that I didn't even buy anything. I just sort of walked around slack-jawed for a few minutes trying to take only a few pictures to not anger the store clerk and try not to leave the place covered head-to-toe in knickknacks.

Maybe after a few months at looking only at cool colored things could I return in hopes of making a purchase...maybe.
