Hey all,
I need to get my second Hep A shot before I leave Korea. However, I DON'T have health insurance.
I was quoted $70,000 from Good Moonhwa Hospital for the shot for people WITH health insurance,
meaning it will be more than double that price for me.
Has anyone else gotten a HEP A shot in Korea? Do you think I can find a hospital that has a cheapter price...or are shots usually fixed?
THANKS SO MUCH!
Re: Hep A shot - NO INSURANCE
Got mine done at Pusan University hospital near Nampo. Also they have an English speaking nurse as a guide that you can contact.
Cost me 138 bucks total for Hep A and B, including consulation fees. You don't need medical insurance since it's not covered by it.

Re: Hep A shot - NO INSURANCE
Hello, I am an RN, working at Dongeui Hospital in Yangjeong-dong near city hall.
The information I got from our hospital registration Dept. is that Korean Health Insurance does not cover any kinds of immunization or vaccination and the price range can vary depending on which hospital you go to.
It costs 70.000 won for Hep. A here in Dongeui Hospital or you can try any clinic in your area but not all clinics offer the vaccination.
Before the vaccination you need to have a blood test to see if you have the antibodies already.
We do have an English coordinator who guides you through the process, explains and answers your questions .
Please feel free to contact me at this number, 010-9457-8941 if you need any more information or you want to schedule an appointment.
Thank you.
