R.I.P. Scoot #2

Scoot #2's warranty expired last week and we were told that his electric box needed to be replaced, and the cost would be on our shoulders.  This was the 10th time in 6 months that we had brought him in for repairs and we knew he wasn't very reliable, so we asked the shop if they would buy him from us.  After about 10 minutes, they agreed, and we were offered more $$$ than we thought we would get, shook hands and left Scoot there.... never to be rode again.

Sporting a Free Scooter

Ever since I arrived in Korea I wanted to get a scooter.  Just to get around for shopping and to get back and forth to school.  I think all schools in Korea are build up on a steep hill.  I don't know if this is to "build character" in students - to get them mentally tough before they even get to class, or if it's something else.  Judging by the "No Pain, No Gain" sign leading into the English classroom at my school, it makes me wonder if I'm right about building character.

Safety on the sidewalk

I’ll just start by saying that I like the alliteration in the title, but as I am English I shall be referring to the sidewalk as pavement from now on.

Living in Korea you need to be aware at all times of your surroundings. For instance, an unlikely place for unforeseen danger is the pavement. It is not uncommon in Korea to be dodging people, objects and even vehicles whilst using it.

My initial introduction to the perilous pavements here was my foot colliding with the curb. It took several weeks before my body and mind became accustomed to the marginally higher pavements and I stopped tripping up at just about every encounter.

Scooter shop in Busan?

I haven't been able to find a good place to buy a scooter in Busan.  Is there a place where most foreigners buy from? If you could send me the name and location that would be great. thanks
