Where to Buy English Books in Korea

Winter is coming in Korea and it’s a great time to snuggle up with a few new books. This past January I made a goal to read 35 books in 2014, and I can finally see the finish line! I’ve read 26 books so far, so that leaves 9 more to go in under 2 months. That’s a lot of reading, so I decided to order some new books to motivate me to reach my goal.

I ordered them from What the Book, the popular used book store in the Itaewon neighborhood of Seoul. Many of you have probably heard of or visited the store, but you may not know that you can also order books from their online store and have them delivered to you anywhere in Korea! Even if you’re looking for a specific book they don’t have, What the Book can order it for you online and send it to you.

Haul~ Totally Rad 80′s Dresses in Korea

The other day I was in Edae (as usual!) and stopped by one of my favorite Ajumas shop~ she is has this TINY little hole in the wall (more like a gap between two buildings) that she sells socks and one  rack of thrift store clothing. Most of it is terrible, but wow~  once in a while I find something amazing in that pile!! This time she had not one, but two pastel 1980′s dresses that looked so cute I could not say no! When thrifting for vintage clothing in Edae you have to be quick, girls snatch them up fast!

Japanese Cocoa with Korean Kitty Goodies

This week I bought a new really cute kitty mug and some amazing Japanese hot cocoa mix from the store. Since it was imported it was not cheap, so I kept my fingers crossed that it would be yummy!  I really like hot cocoa (yeah I know it is summer, I like ice choco milk too! lol) but here in Korea most of the shops make it all watery and gross.

Daiso Haul~ Pretty Plates!

New Daiso Haul this week~  I picked up a few pretty new floral plates and some plastic forks!  I have not bought any forks for my apartment even though I have lived here over a year now, Koreans mainly use spoons and chopsticks so forks are kinda “fancy” and a bit pricy at most stores… sold as single pieces usually so I never bothered.  Now I have a nice pack of cheap pastel ones though…lets see if I even use them! haha

Pretty Flowers

I forgot to post these from April~  but check out the beautiful flower arrangement Nara had delivered to me for my Birthday!!  Korean flower arrangements are so beautiful compared to the ones back home~

So much color!!!  It cheered me up a lot since I get lonely here when it is my Birthday~

The arrangement was fairly large, so I was able to split it up into 3 vases around my room.

Daiso + Mart + Misc Hauls in Korea

This post will be updated with haul pics from my shopping adventures here in Korea!  Hope you will enjoy these ♥  I will update this post as I have new pictures to share~ newest will be at the top!

This week I stopped in to Daiso around Sillim and found a ton of adorable plastic frames in pastel colors for about 1,000-2,000원, a cute pop-up book stand for my magazines 2,000원, yummy strawberry candle 1,000원, 6 bottles of “organic farm” Korean nail polish, and a bottle of Chicka Pika gum candy… because I looove it (*_*)  I still need to find art for the frames, but WOW the nail polish at Daiso is AMAZING guys~ it looks so nice on!  Going back for the other colors ♥
