Fantastic Baby? Or Fantastic Chicken?

The students have been singing a funny song in class. Another infiltration of Korean popular culture in the classroom. So I started to wonder what the source was, as I am kind of out of touch with Kpop these days. Turns out they were singing a parodied song to "Fantastic Baby" by BigBang in the tune of "Fantastic Chicken."

After having watched both videos I find the "Fantastic Chicken" a lot more amusing. Of course it's hard to get over the new looks of the BigBang members, and their cuteness. Here are the videos so you can see for yourself...

Silleuksa Temple Resort: Yeoju

Alongside the Yeoju Ceramic festival lies the Silleuksa Temple. Out of all the temples I have visited in Korea, thus far, this one proved to be very illuminating. I think what makes this one stand out from the others is that it resides next to the Namhangang river. But you will will also see that there are many treasures to be found on your visit, which add to the uniqueness of this place.

I started off by purchasing my ticket and taking a stroll by the river and through a shaded tree-lined path.

New Works: Winter 2011 ~ Present

"Market" 2011, Watercolor on paper

The above work is an example of recent works I have made since last winter and up to now. Production of my works have been arguably slow and I'm still trying to find what I'm looking to make. But I've taken off on this urban theme and views from the street.

Hangang Yeouido Spring Flower Festival

In the nearly five years that I have lived in Korea, I have never once been to the infamous Yeoudio Flower Festival. Usually the reason I didn't go was that my ex's told me it was too crowded, parking was horrible and it's far away. Well since this year I have no man to tell me not to do things, I decided to head there anyways. Unfortunately, I wasn't blown away.

Wandering Around Anam Area

There are places in Seoul that you end up at that you have never been before. The thing is, though, nearly every place in Seoul pretty much looks the same. Except for several key places like, Samcheongdong and Insadong, otherwise you can pretty much expect the same old...same old.

Monster Cupcakes: Noksapyeong

One can't help but feel a sense of duty to go and try out a new cupcake shop. Past Noksapyeong station and in the neighborhood nearby Standing Coffee, is the place Monster Cupcakes. I went and visited them recently and took home two scrumptious treats.
