Here I am super-duper excited to tell you all about Anapji Pond, and I find out it’s a man-made, artificial pond.  Well…uh-oh.

Flashlight Workshop Gyeongju

When it comes to workshops on photography (in English) you have very limited options in Korea. Outside of Seoul, your options almost drop to zero (I am working on changing that very soon). However, Dylan Goldby and Andy Faulk decided to change all that by putting together a workshop in the historic city of Gyeongju this past weekend. I had a chance to meet up with them and check these guys in action as they gave out their photographic secrets by the boatload.

Teacher’s Workshop Trip- Gyeongju

On Tuesday and Wednesday our bosses took the teachers from our school on a staff workshop trip. It was teacher’s day on Wednesday so it is common for employers and employees at schools to celebrate it together. This year we got taken to Gyeongju. All of the teachers have to write a report to show our appreciation to the governor, as he is the one who funds these trips! So here is David’s and my report…

Field Trip to Gyeongju!

On Tuesday morning, I came to work and immediately loaded a comfy greyhound style bus with a bunch of 6th graders...

Where to Shoot! Anapji

You have all seen this same photo around and it may have put a few of you off from going there. It may have prompted some of you to go there. The fact of the matter is that Anapji Pond in Gyeongju is a beautiful place to visit when the weather is nice.

While the blossoms may have fallen, it is still a great time to head out to Gyeongju and relax in this popular site. The best time to visit, in order to get the “standard Anapji shot” is just after the sun touches down during the blue hour. However, this is the exact time that people go to shoot and trust me, you will no be alone, nor will your shots be original. Should that keep you from going? Hell, no! Go out and mingle. Find a new angle or go at a different time.

Spiders, Cows, and Anapji Pond: Gyeongju by Bike

Yep–one more post on Gyeongju.  It’s not every day I get to ride around on a fall afternoon in the Korean countryside…so I took a lot of pics.

Enjoy, and thanks for reading, everyone!
