If you ever find yourself especially sleepy in Korea, a jjimjilbang (찜질방) is a good place to go for a few hours. We went to Dragon Hill Spa (드래곤힐스파) the last time we were in Seoul to soak in hot water and slumber on the floor.

On weekends, it’s 14,000₩ for day (5:00 am - 8:00 pm) or night (8:00 pm - 5:00 am). Lots of variety in rooms (e.g. all temperatures, including an ice room and a salt room) and baths (e.g. ginseng and medicinal water).

Spa Land is the most expensive but probably the best jjimjilbang (찜질방) in Korea (and likely, the world). It’s located in Shinsegae, the world’s biggest mall, so as expected, Spa Land is huge, clean, and modern. They have hot rooms, cold rooms, salt rooms, and a bunch of other rooms that are all good for you in some way.

You can hang out with your friends and family everywhere but the baths, which are single-sex only.

Hurshimchung / Heosimcheong Hot Springs Spa (허심청) is a popular jjimjilbang (찜질방) in Busan. They are best described as large, gender-segregated public bathhouses.

Relax At Home: Premium Massage Chairs

For our first trip to a Korean spa, we choose one of Busan’s biggest and most modern — Spa Land, in the Shinsegae department store. Twenty-two baths, thirteen distinctively-designed saunas, relaxation rooms, steam rooms, foot baths and more were ours to enjoy for four blissful hours.
