One of my favorite things to do in Busan is to ride a small boat at Taejongdae (태종대). The ride doesn’t take more than an hour, but it’s so much fun on a clear day. We went at the end of September and saw dolphins last time.

I recommend exiting Nampo-dong Station (남포역), exit 6. Then, take local city bus #8, #30, #88, or #101, and get off at Taejongdae Terminal. This is approximately a 30 minute ride.

Keep your eyes open for any signs stating “Taejongdae Gonpo Cruise Boat.”

A Typhoon never stopped us

Last Sunday as Typhoon Sanba was making its way towards Busan, we were invited out for a day of exploration by my students and friends Soon Chul and Elin. Chul picked us up in his very cool hybrid and we headed off to the coast. Taejongdae

All the Taes……Taegeuk-do Village and Taejongdae

Being light in the wallet and with springs glorious charms upon us I have taken to discovering the hidden charms of Busan rather than straying further afield. I’ve lived in Busan now for close to eleven months and visited the city several times the year before. However, until a week or so ago I was unaware of the existence of Taegeuk-do village. I guess it is a little under-reported in the media and has only been really considered a tourist attraction in recent times. This area is steeped in history, most of it inglorious and it is only the recent arrival of an artistic redevelopment that has garnered it significant attention.

Taejongdae View

These kid sisters were a riot. Everyone wants to catch the view out in Taejongdae, and the eldest here decided to help here little sister up to catch the view. As well-intentioned as it was, I don't think the little one liked it too much.

Is North Korea really a threat?

With activities like this it's hard to believe it could be a threat, possibly a good place to spend the weekend but not a threat!

South Korea Trip- Busan 부산

Alright you can check out the video of my trip in Busan, South Korea. The trip in total was 85 kms. On the trip I checked out Busan tower, Nampo-dong, went to Jagalchi market, Taejongdae park, Haeundae Beach and ended the day at a Lotte Giants baseball game. Each video is a one day trip. I start the day with no plan other than a final destination. By the end of the day I have compiled 2-4 hours of footage on two cameras.
