Jeju Pt 2: The Chocolate Museum

I had high expectations

Great Expectations

The Chocolate Museum in Seogwipo, Jeju is the second largest chocolate museum in the world (the largest is the Cologne Chocolate Museum in Germany). The building looks like an ancient castle made of chocolate (it’s actually volcanic rock from Jeju). I had high hopes for this museum from the beginning. It was named as one of the ‘World’s Top 10 Best Chocolate Museums in the World’ by the members and editors of VirtualTourist.com and it is the only chocolate museum found in Asia.

Awesomeness…

Jeju Pt 1: Land of Oranges, Pigs and Lovers

MAY: Jeju Island, the perfect getaway to spend time with the girls. Though, technically, it’s a “Honeymooner’s Paradise”. The three chicas and I thought, “hey, what the heck? May as well enjoy its beauty”. We all had a must-see added to the list of things to do, but what made it easier and complete was renting a car. Can’t have a girl’s weekend without making it a road trip right?

Niagara Falls

The Experience

Some shots from my family trip to Niagara Falls. If you are in the area, that place is a must see. It was my dad’s dream come true, and I loved having the opportunity to have fun taking pictures at a leisure pace. My family is made up of a bunch of nerds, including myself. I love learning random facts and tidbits. I would be the dork going along an educational tour and truly enjoying it.

Gwangalli Beach

Gwangalli beach in daytime, Busan
Gwangalli beach is Busan’s second-most popular beach (second to Haeundae). It has a distinctively more ‘city beach’ feel to it than its more-popular counterpart does. It’s a solid ’7′ by day, but a ’10′ by night, where you can gaze at the iconic Diamond bridge, buy some fireworks, and drink to your heart’s desire.

If you go during the day, Beach umbrellas are 5,000 won. Sit at one and an attendant will come to collect. Tubes for the water are 7,000-10,000 to rent, but you should get some deposit money back at the end.

Songjeong Beach

Songjeong Beach, Busan

Songjeong Beach, although it’s not very well known, is probably the best of the Busan beaches. You go to Haeundae for the crowds, you go to Gwangalli at night, but if you want a classic Beach Day, then you go to Songjeong Beach.

Directions:
There’s a nice hike from Jangsan to Songjeong beach, or you can get there from a taxi from Jangsan station.

Epic Day of Epicness Part 2

A while back Dave decided to have part 2 of Epic Day of Epicness – a day in which a bunch of us engage in a bunch of random fun stuff. It’s nice to get out and explore Daegu. We got some Kebabs, tried shooting targets and eventually ended up a French restaurant which was superb.

Woobang Tower Land School Trip

We had the great opportunity to go to Wooband Tower Land (우방타워랜드) on a school trip with all the students of my school. The park itself made me reminiscent of Busch Gardens back in the States, a European-styled theme park.  Obviously the central site is the tower itself which rises 312 meters above the park.I’m hoping to do the SkyJump one day, a 123 meters high (403.6 ft) jump with a 10 seconds fall. But that’s for next time.

Maggie visits from…well all over the world.

My friend Maggie got a chance to stay with me for two weeks after having been on the road for 6 months traveling the world. She was my manager back in City Year. I loved showing her Korea, it made Daegu feel new all over again.
