Dal Thai

Thai cuisine is amazing. Everyone knows that. The spicy yet refreshing blend of spices, the creamy flavor of coconut milk, and the fresh pop of flash fried vegetables add up to make an enchanting mix. When done right…. and it isn’t easy to do right. So it was myself and three friends headed up the hill towards Dalmaji, with a heady mixture of excitement and trepidation.

The Pho: Gwangan

Recently myself and my fiancé found ourselves at a loose end, and hungry, in the midst of Gwangan. I’ve always been fond of the restaurant scene in Gwangan, finding there to be a better range to suit all budgets than the slightly pricier Haeundae.

On this particular day, we stumbled upon a tantalizing looking Vietnamese restaurant called ‘The Pho’. I was lured in by the prospect of a decent bowl of pho, something that can be hard to find in Korea!

Bubbling goodness

Yay! Summer vacation is here! I love it when my kids are around, waking up late, heavy breakfast at noon, playing and chatting until lunch time and continuing to play and chat until dinner. It is pretty fun and I am enjoying every second spent with them.

Today, we ventured out of our home even with the MERS situation hanging above our heads. Few people were wearing masks, there were sanitizers even inside the bus for public use, and antibacterial wipes everywhere. Maybe a little less crowd in the malls, and deserted restaurants. Everything is a bit gloomy and depressing here in Seoul :(

Korean Recipe: Japchae

I can honestly say Japchae is one of my favorite Korean dishes and just like Bibimbap is something quite easy to make.

Korean Blackbean Sauce Noodles (Jajangmyeon)

These delicious noodles are a take-out favorite in Korea.  This dish is really easy to make at home and you get to control the quality of the ingredients.  You can also use the sauce over rice instead of noodles if you prefer.
