Kindergarten Gangsters

There's a new fashion trend that has been adopted by one of my kindergarten boys- faux 90's low riding!

Yes you read right low ride pants- or sort of.  Faux-riding?  Even if I don't know exactly what to call it, I do know how to spot it.

One of my Kindergarten boys, Leo, has multiple pairs of these pants.  And I know I thought they were weird at first, but it wasn't until I was with a friend a few weekends ago and saw them on another little boy and he was slightly flabbergasted by them, did I think about how weird they really are.

Sorry for the picture quality, I didn't want to tell one of my more self-conscious students to bend over so I could take pictures of his weird pants- so I had to do it quasi-stealthily.

Edae 이대 ♥ Trendy Uni Shopping Area

Right in front of the famed Ewha Women’s University is an area called Edae 이대 which is a cluster of small shops weaving and twisting through many streets around the campus front gates.

♥ ♥ ♥

Edae University was founded in 1866 by the American Missionary Mary Scranton,  today it is considered one of the top schools in Korea to attend along with Seoul University.  It is a very trendy area with a range of tastes and styles, and since its right next to the popular Hongdae and Shinchon university stations (the trend trinity!) it is a given that this area is usually packed with younger people shopping and having a good time on the weekend.

Tiding of Spring – Vogue Girl Korea

Absolutely stunning spread from Vogue Girls 2011 spring issue!!!

Just look at all those colors, patterns, and flowers mixed around with traditional clothing shapes and imagery ♥

Lotte ♥ Romantic Altiear

This spring Lotte launched the theme “Romantic Altiear” throughout Korea.  The inspiration was vivid spring colors combined with paper and other textured organic elements ♥  Sadly this time of year the sun or lights seem to hit all the outside window displays at the Lotte next to my house, so I am sorry about the photo quality with these!

♥ ♥ ♥

Overall it was a minimal, but very colorful and fun theme for the start of spring! The colors really got me in the mood to shop for bright colors and the flower designs made of paper for the mannequins are beautiful

Vogue Girl Korea – Sweet Blossom

This is an old shoot from 2010 Vogue Girl Korea, which like Vogue Korea is known for its beautiful editorial photography unique to the Korean issues.  I prefer Vogue Girl Korea sometimes because it can be a little more playful VS normal Vogue Korea, and this is a good example!  A very dreamy and girly shoot in a calm field…. with cotton candy and amazing puffy wigs!!

Anyone tempted to re-create one of these outfits? I am *_*

Pink sweets of Vogue Girl

Korean Vogue Girl has beautiful photo shoots just like Korean Vogue!

Here are just a few from my inspiration folder that I have come across lately,  they are so sweet it’s worth posting ~ Pinks, Cakes, and Cute theme GO!!!

Beans and Sand

As a preview to the topic of 'sighns' I'm going to be doing later this week, I give you a bit of the five year old fashion trends.  Now as you might imagine, or some of you remember from before- Korea is home to some crazy incorrect English- which makes for some awesomely bad signage, and also clothes.

The other day, our friend Phillip was sporting some really awesome fashion, with some really great English.

Spring Comes..

Posting today to share another beautiful photo shoot from Korean Vogue Girl that I dug up from 2011~

Spring themed with beautiful flowers all over the models ♥

Vogue Korea “Spring Breeze”

March Vogue is out here in Korea!  Spring is not quite here outside, but they have captured a beautiful and whimsical pond-like scene with one foot stepped in the past within the pages of Vogue.  As usual with Korean Vogue, they have mixed together fashion with traditional Korean Hanbok elements/ aesthetics.  I’m SO ready for the Cherry Blossoms to bloom…

♥ ♥ ♥  enjoy! ♥ ♥ ♥

Dear Korea #059 - In Need of Bigger Pants

Dear Korea #059

To any readers out there that enjoy wearing skinny jeans, I sincerely apologize if this strip offends you. While I will admit that some people out there look pretty darn good in skinny jeans/leggings/anything not baggy, I am not one of those people. I am also not one of those people that really enjoys seeing really tight pants on most other people, especially guys. What can I say? I like my men with some meat on ‘em. Maybe I’m just jealous of the average Korean guy’s super slender legs.
