Pumpin’ Strong

,mHey lil E.

Today was a very momentous day. We heard your heart beat. This is the same heartbeat that will be pumping strong for the next century! It was an unbelievable sound. What was equally as amazing was that you were like a beautiful lightening bug blinking with every beat. Your heart at only 6 weeks beats at 119 bpm.

One More Sleep

Until my mum arrives in Busan. After 6 months of not seeing her.

I'm super excited and have lots planned for her to see and do over the next 9 days.

She's probably going to kill me for this picture from last Christmas but it's the only one I have on my laptop...

Hey Lil, its Dad

It wasn’t long ago that I started to imagine you in my life. I would sit and think about you and how important it was for me to be ready to welcome you into the world. I would always tell mommy I wanted everything to be perfect. I needed all the puzzle pieces together. I had some of the pieces already.

Fast and Furious Growth

Our little “dot”

This is very cool. Daddy and I have a secret and everyday we walk around our big city trying to to burst and tell everyone you are inside!

You must be growing ALOT! During the day I am always starving and exhausted. I think it is because you are sleeping and grow more when you are asleep then awake.

You are just a little over 5 weeks but already wipe me of my energy, but it’s okay, I am loving my long naps (Eunee too)

For the Love of the Game….

When I was 6 years old, I suited up for my first little league baseball game. I’ll never forget it. My jersey was green with white trim on the collar and sleeves. My number was 6 and there was absolutely nothing better to me than getting my pants as covered in dirt as humanly possible. Win or lose, playing baseball was a time in my childhood that I will never forget.

Bon Voyage

I know it may sound a bit too much like "Love Actually," but airports are full of emotion.  I have cried more than once at security from sad goodbyes (not because of the pat downs), and anxiously awaited happy returns after getting my luggage.

While getting ready to fly back to Busan from Osaka, I was getting a drink at the Starbucks that is past security.  If there is one thing Starbucks is great for, it is awesome at helping you spend that last 5 dollars in coins that the money exchange wouldn't let you turn back into Korean Won.

Your first…first

Today was a very special day. It was your first trip to the doctor, even at only 4 weeks and 1 day (we think). You are the little black spot inside of that white oval near the top of the picture.

Your doctor is a nice woman named Dr. Shin. She spoke a little English and gave us a cute book to keep track of your growth (and mine)

She said you were 2mm big. She said, “That dot is your preg.”

We already love you, our Preg.

Your Dad has nicknamed you little elephant (they are for good luck).

He wants to take a picture of you everyday so we can watch you grow.

Today is Day 16 we think.

August 18th, a life changer

August 18th is the 230th day of the year.

According to Wikipedia:

  • It was also the day helium was discovered.
  • Edward Norton, Patrick Swayze, Christian Slater, and G-Dragon were born.
  • Its National Science Day in Thailand.

According to Yahoo, it is also

  • Bad Poetry Day
  • Ice Cream Pie Day
  • Mail Order Catalogue Day
  • Self Serve Ice Cream Day (why so much ice cream?)

According to daily horoscopes, mine as a Gemini reads:

flipside?

not-so deep thoughts…

In life….there are 2 sides to every coin. Each decision we make has a flip side that may have required a bit of deliberation to make it the option we accept as our choice….and our path to happiness.

Small World, Big Love..and a Birdhouse.

Its a fact of life that living away from family means that you will inevitably miss out on life events and special occasions from time to time. Being there virtually has been a saving grace for Nicole and I. Skype, Kakao, Facebook, Twitter and our blogs offer us a direct connect with loved ones back home but there are still some things that just don’t quite make the journey through electronic media.
